This Paso Robles travel guide provides tips on how to help you with planning a Paso Robles wine country getaway, along with suggestions for a long weekend itinerary to get the most out of your visit to the area.
Whether you’re visiting California or are a California resident, there are hundreds of mini trips just waiting at your fingertips! You could easily pack up your car and drive a couple hours in any direction and come across a destination worth spending a few days at. One such place is the charming wine country destination of Paso Robles along California’s Central Coast.
With a never-ending list of wineries, amazing restaurants, and breweries, Paso Robles is such a great place to spend a long weekend away in!
Where is Paso Robles?
Paso Robles is a lovely wine country town nestled amongst the rolling hills of the Central California Coast. Paso Robles is also smack dab in between Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area, making it an easy weekend trip from either big city hub.
Though it is technically “on the coast,” Paso Robles is actually about 40 minutes from the ocean. If you’re itching for seaside vibes, you can always pair a visit to Paso Robles with a some of the other cute coastal towns nearby like Cambria, Morro Bay, Cayucos, and Pismo Beach!
How to Get to Paso Robles
If you’re located in California, or are already visiting a region in California, driving to Paso Robles is quite easy. If you’re coming from out of state and only want to focus on Paso Robles, you could consider flying into the San Luis Obispo airport (which is only about 30 minutes away) and rent a car.
- From Los Angeles: 205 miles (about 3 hours & 20 minutes)
- From San Francisco: 205 miles (about 3 hours & 15 minutes)
- From Sacramento: 262 miles (about 4 hours)
- From San Luis Obispo: 31 miles (about 30 minutes)
What to Pack for Paso Robles
Though California has lovely weather almost year round, you’ll definitely want to be prepared for the varying temperatures in Paso Robles. It can be hot during the day, but cool down in the evenings with the coastal breeze coming in. And of course, you don’t want to forget your basic travel essentials!
- Sandals for spring and summer; boots for fall and winter to keep those feet warm!
- Cute Dresses for winery visits
- Jacket for cool Paso Robles nights (it can get very cold in Paso at night, even through late spring due to its proximity to the coast. Be prepared!)
- Sun hat for wine tasting in the spring & summer
- Sunglasses for beautiful, sunny days
- Light blanket or throw to keep you warm on cooler Paso nights
- Swimsuit, towels & slippers (flip flops) for a mineral springs visit! (River Oaks charges a fee for towel rental)
- Sunscreen & lip balm
- Lotion (I love the scent of this one!)
- Electric toothbrush (we’ve been using this one for years and it comes with a charging travel case) & toothpaste
- Silicone bottles for liquids that don’t come in travel sizes (if you need to save on space)
- Packing cubes – save space to bring home wine!
- Car charger to keep your cell phone charged if you are driving to Paso from far away
- Even though it’s wine country and many hotels and accommodations should have a wine bottle opener, it can’t hurt to be prepared and bring your own!
Where to Stay in Paso Robles
There are a ton of great options for accommodations in Paso Robles, from B&B’s located on winery properties to a plethora of centrally-located hotels and inns in the Downtown area. Here are a few that we’ve stayed at and recommend!
Geneseo Inn
The Geneseo Inn at Cass Winery is simply one of the most unique places that we’ve stayed at to date. The rooms are all crafted out of repurposed shipping containers, and are beautifully and elegantly decorated with natural earthy tones – each room with it’s own “theme.”
I wrote up a whole post on our stay at the Geneseo Inn if you’re interested in more details, but here are some of the highlights:
- Welcome cheeseboard on arrival
- Full breakfast spread each morning of your stay
- A stunning backdrop with vineyard views from your private balcony!
- Cass wine for purchase at discounted rates for Geneseo Guests
And, I mean, how many times can you say you’ve stayed in a shipping container?! On a winery property, no less!
Psst: book the Geneseo Inn on Hotels.com for it to count towards your rewards nights!
Paso Robles Inn
The Paso Robles Inn is the perfect place to stay in downtown Paso Robles for its central location! As much as we love how unique the Geneseo Inn is, we really enjoy having the ability to walk to restaurants when we are traveling. It’s also the responsible thing to do if you plan on enjoying the downtown beer, cocktail and wine scene!
One unique feature at the Paso Robles Inn is that there is a selection of rooms that come with spas on the balcony/patios. Definitely book one of those if you can! They do book up fast, so you’ll want to make sure you secure a reservation far in advance. The Paso Robles Inn has also partnered with local-area wineries, breweries, and distilleries to theme each room!
Other Downtown Paso Robles hotel options I’d love to stay at on future trips are Hotel Cheval (a luxury splurge), The Piccolo, and the Stables Inn (this place looks so cute!).
Hatch House Victorian Airbnb
Most recently, I stayed at the Hatch House Victorian Airbnb located just a block away from downtown Paso Robles. This 3 bedroom 2.5 bath historic property is perfect if you’re traveling with a group (I did so with a small bachelorette group) and comes fully-equipped with all essentials you’d need for a long weekend getaway.
The house is decorated with a vintage touch in all of the rooms, and the downstairs full bathrooms are elegantly updated. They even have a relaxing outdoor patio with gas fireplace, which is perfect for cooler Paso evenings!
More importantly, since the house is located so close to the downtown area, a car is generally not required to get to the city’s best restaurants. Gotta love a good walkable place to stay!
We booked this property on VRBO, but it’s also available on the Airbnb site.

Where to Eat in Paso Robles
Paso Robles is a great town to visit if you are a foodie! They have everything ranging from budget eats to farm-to-table bistros, and even intimate chef’s table-style dining experiences.
Fish Gaucho
Fish Gaucho | 1244 Park St, Paso Robles, CA 93446
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Paso Robles! It was the very first spots we visited in town on our first trip and it was nothing short of memorable! I loved it so much, I took my friend’s bachelorette group back for a night out too.
Fish Gaucho is probably one of the top restaurants recommended by others to dine at in the downtown area. It definitely lived up to our expectations, and it earns our top spot for favorite meal in Paso Robles!
Reservations: I 100% recommend you make a reservation to guarantee yourself a seat here. Downtown Paso can get very lively at night, especially on Friday and Saturday nights!
What to Eat at fish gaucho
I can only imagine that everything on the menu is tasty, but here are the items we had (and loved)!
- Chips and Salsa Trio: Roasted Tomato + Avocado Tomatillo + Pineapple Jicama Pico. A perfect start!
- Side of Hot-Hot Sauce: This is an extra cost and it is REALLY spicy, but has delicious flavor. Worth it! Good to add to your salsas or serve on top of your entrees (sparingly).
- Mussels with Chorizo: Blue mussels with chorizo in white wine and chipotle cream broth with bread for dipping. We loved it so much, we ordered extra bread so as not to let the sauce go to waste!
- Smoke, Fire, Blood: A refreshing (and visually beautiful) cocktail with a Mezcal base. If you’ve never had Mezcal before, it’s made from the agave plant (much like tequila, which is made only from the blue agave) and has a very distinct smoky taste. It’s not for everyone, but I enjoy it. This cocktail was a great presentation of it.
- Enchiladas de Mole Camarón stuffed with gulf shrimp, butternut squash & artisanal queso, topped with a delicious mole sauce. I made sure not a single bite of this tasty dish went to waste that night!
- Short rib anything: Their enchiladas and tacos are rich and savory.
- Chile Verde de Gaucho: Slow braised beef short ribs in salsa verde, served over jalapeno mashed potatoes with flour tortillas, a nice runny egg and grilled asparagus. Wow. People – this dish is spectacular. The short ribs are so tender and the salsa verde sauce is incredibly flavorful! If you’re a meat eater, this dish is not to be missed.
The Alchemist’s Garden
The Alchemist’s Garden | 1144 Pine St, Paso Robles, CA 93446
A very lively and popular spot for dinner in Downtown Paso is The Alchemist’s Garden, known especially for their craft cocktails.
What to Eat at the alchemist’s garden
- Asparagus & Cucumber Salad with shaved manchego cheese and an avocado champagne vinaigrette. This salad is made for raw vegetable lovers (even the asparagus is raw!). It’s refreshing with great flavor from the vinaigrette.
- Tiger Shrimp with cauliflower puree and purple potato. Love me some beautifully-presented shrimpies!
- Duck Chalupa, which is a crispy (yet fluffy) pita filled with duck carnitas, melted cheese, spicy slaw, sour cream, and herbs. While everything at The Alchemist’s Garden was tasty, this duck chalupa absolutely stole the show!
As The Alchemist’s Garden is known for their cocktails, you just have to give one (or two) a try! Some of their drinks are small portion-wise, but are flavorful and strong. When we visited, I had to get the Nicolas Flamel – a margarita-style cocktail – because I’m a big Harry Potter nerd. If you know, you know! They also have seasonal astrological sign specials!
The Alchemist’s Garden does not take reservations, and gets VERY busy on the weekends. I recommend putting your name down and hopping over to the Irish Pub a few doors down for a cocktail while you wait!
Etto Pasta Bar
3070 Limestone Way Suite B, Paso Robles, CA 93446
https://www.ettopastabar.net/
Etto Pasta Bar is one of the few restaurants in the Tin City area and I think it’s the perfect spot to kick off your time in Paso Robles with lunch!
The Gamberi fra Diavolo with shrimp and ndjua was delish and their chopped salad is not to be missed. They do have a small selection of wine and cocktails available as well – we tried the Etto Spritz’ and it was nice and refreshing. They also have some rotating desserts that are a must-try!
The restaurant is counter service, which means you walk in and order first before finding your seat. They’ll hand you a number for the table and bring your food out when it’s ready. There is plenty of seating indoors, as well as a cute outdoor patio in the back.
TASTE! Craft Eatery
TASTE! | 810 11th St, Paso Robles, CA 93446
Brunch at TASTE! Craft Eatery in Downtown Paso Robles provides diners with a unique experience. Their restaurant concept is not one I have come across before!
From their menu, you can choose a combination of two, three or four items. Food ranges from brunch specialties to a wide array of different sandwiches, salads, sliders, and mac and cheese creations. These items are all small portions, which is why you can get away with trying so many options. We were so overwhelmed on what to choose, we ended up with four things each!
What to Eat at TASTE!
All of the food we tried was really tasty and we were so glad to have such a variety of items! Here are a few of our favorites.
- Sweet & Spicy Breakfast Slider with Andouille sausage, smoked gouda, and a poached egg on a donut! Ya’ll…that donut was amazing and really made the slider. The combination of sweet and salty with the sausage was delicious! I would go back and eat like three of these for brunch next time if I could.
- South of the Border Breakfast Bowl with spinach, pepper jack cheese, roasted jalapeno, a poached egg, and hollandaise. I’m not typically into eating poached eggs, but they were tasty in this breakfast bowl.
- Rocky Mountain Breakfast Bowl with Canadian bacon, bacon, roasted pepper, roasted jalapeno, a poached egg, and hollandaise. Similar rich flavors to the above, but geared towards meat lovers!
If you’re trying to be more health conscious, they have really good-looking salads and all of their sliders can be made lettuce-wrapped. They also have a bunch of items suitable for vegetarians!
Smash n Roll Food Truck at Barrelhouse
3055 Limestone Way, Paso Robles, CA 93446
If ever you are in need of some tasty pub grub while sipping away on some beers, Smash n Roll will satisfy your every craving. Smash n Roll is a food truck that is currently permanently parked at Barrelhouse Brewing in the Tin City area. Food trucks and beer go hand in hand!
Smash n Roll serves up a rotating menu of items such as smash burgers (of course), lobster rolls, and fried chicken sandwiches. I highly recommend both the smash burger and the lobster roll!
Firestone Walker Brewing
Firestone Walker | 1400 Ramada Dr, Paso Robles, CA 93446
If you enjoy brewery/pub grub, Firestone Walker is definitely a must visit! Truthfully, you want to come here to try their seasonal beers on tap, but you gotta eat too right? They’ve got a variety of great options to choose from to soak up all the beer, but I highly recommend the fish and chips, fried chicken sandwich, and their pizzas. They also have a killer-looking BBQ chicken salad which I salivated over as I watched the guy next to us chow down on during one of our visits.
Jeffry’s Wine Country BBQ
819 12th St, Suite B, Paso Robles, CA 93446
https://jeffryswinecountrybbq.com/
If you want a casual spot for lunch or dinner, Jeffry’s has some tasty BBQ options, along with wine and beer. Ordering is counter service, so seating is first come first served. Get there right at opening for lunch and you don’t have to worry about any wait or finding a seat!
I shared a sampler platter here with a friend that included brisket, ribs, mac and cheese, chili beans, and a sesame coleslaw. The ribs and coleslaw were my fav! I love a good tangy coleslaw that’s not mayo-based. They also had a chorizo mac and cheese special which was super tasty (so if they have chorizo available, add it to your mac!).
Red Scooter Deli
1102 Pine St, Paso Robles, CA 93446
https://www.redscooterdeli.com/
I’ve eaten at Red Scooter twice now and both times the food has been delicious! From the smoked salmon wrap to the turkey club, I don’t think you can go wrong. They also have a really good pasta salad! We visited once to “dine in” where we sat at one of the picnic tables outside, and I’ve also had a wrap from the deli on a wine tour I took for a girls’ weekend.
Note: If you are going to dine in, call ahead! We had a 45-minute wait when we visited which is far from ideal. However, since the food was delish, I’ll give them a one-time pass…
Brown Butter Cookie Co.
Brown Butter Cookie Co. | 801 12th St, Paso Robles, CA 93446
The Brown Butter Cookie Co. is a sweet treat staple when visiting the San Luis Obispo County area. They actually originated in Cayucos, but have a shop set up in the heart of Downtown Paso Robles to spread more cookie joy!
In my humble opinion, these cookies are so delicious. If you like butter, these will be your jam. They are a firmer cookie that crumbles a bit versus soft and chewy, so probably not everyone’s cup of tea (seems like from reviews online you either love or hate this style of cookie). We loved them!
The cookies are a little spendy, but definitely worth the indulgence when traveling. My favorites are the original Brown Butter Sea Salt and the Cinnamon.
Negranti Creamery (Tin City)
2989 Limestone Way, Paso Robles, CA 93446
Negranti Creamery, located in Tin City, is an ice cream shop that focuses primarily on sheep’s milk ice cream. Sheep’s milk is better on the digestive system for those of you lactose intolerant ice cream lovers! It’s also lower in fat and higher in protein.
The sheep’s milk ice cream itself is not quite as creamy as cow’s milk ice creams (sort of has an icy quality to it), but this makes sense knowing the fat content is low.
The salted brown sugar and vanilla caramel swirl are both delicious flavors I can recommend. If sheep’s milk doesn’t sound like it would be your thing, they also scoop cow’s milk ice cream, which I hear is excellent too.
Paso Wish List Eats
Some other restaurants that I would love to visit when back in the area are:
- Thomas Hill Organics: Farm-to-table bistro emphasizing organic produce and natural, grass-fed meats
- Le Petite Canailles: Serving up beautiful French food in the heart of Downtown.
- Somm’s Kitchen: A a chef’s table dining experience with wine pairings.
- Six Test Kitchen: Another intimate chef’s table experience with wine pairings.

What to do in Paso Robles
If you’re anything like me, you’d list “eating” as your number one activity when visiting just about anywhere! However, to pass the time in between meals, there are some other great activities to do while visiting Paso Robles.
Go Wine Tasting
Paso Robles is a major wine region with well over 200 wineries and tasting rooms in the area! How could one possibly cover all that ground? My answer: pace yourself, and pick a small handful of wineries to visit on your weekend getaway.
Wine Tasting Tips
Paso Robles wineries are kind of grouped in four areas: Westside, Eastside, Tin City, and Downtown.
- Downtown is a great option for a day of wine tasting on foot! You could walk out of your hotel room at be at your first stop in minutes without ever having to get into a car. I’ve heard great things about LXV (where you can get a spice pairing with your wine tasting) and Indigené Cellars!
- Tin City is another area with a large cluster of wine tasting rooms. Grab an Uber from your hotel, and schedule out your day on foot once you get to Tin City!
- If you’re visiting wineries to the West and East, you’ll want to make sure you have a designated driver or schedule a wine tour like this cool vintage Jeep tour I did with my friend’s bachelorette group or this wine tour for worry-free tasting!
Reservations: Many Paso Robles wineries may require reservations for tastings. Be sure to check each winery’s website when you are planning out your trip.
Budget Accordingly: Wine tasting, as I’m finding out in the past couple of years, is not exactly a cheap hobby! While we are used to the more affordable wine areas of Lodi and Murphys, we find the Paso Robles area to be a little on the pricey side – both in terms of tasting fees and bottle prices. Bottles tend to run in the $40 – $60 range on average. You’re also looking at tasting fees between $25 and $30 per person (though generally waived with a two bottle purchase).

Best Wineries to Visit in Paso Robles
While I cannot even begin to recommend the best wineries in Paso Robles to visit (I simply have not covered that much ground), here are a few that we’ve visited and what we enjoyed:
1. Jacob Toft
Jacob Toft | 2929 Limestone Way a, Paso Robles, CA 93446
As a a small batch, boutique winery located in the Tin City area, you can expect a very intimate experience at Jacob Toft. They make some beautiful deep red blends, and their bottle art is to die for! We really enjoyed their Josephine’s Rosé and Sarah’s Cuvée, which is a blend of two different Syrahs. The tasting fee here is $25, waived with a two-bottle purchase.
2. Levo
Levo | 2975 Limestone Way, Paso Robles, CA 93446
I love this little boutique winery located in the Tiny City area! A visit here can be easily paired with any of the other area wineries. Their tasting room is chic and rustic, and they poured us one of the most delicious Chardonnays of our life! The tasting fee at Levo is $30, waived with a two-bottle purchase.
3. Cass Winery
Cass Winery | 7350 Linne Rd, Paso Robles, CA 93446
As the host property of the unique Geneseo Inn, Cass Winery is an excellent option on the east side! If you end up staying there, you’ll likely be tasting some of their wines. This property is absolutely a favorite of ours in terms of ambiance, and we could spend hours there relaxing, drinking wine, and enjoying a delicious sandwich from their café menu or tacos from their weekend taco bar! Tasting fees are $25 per person waived with each two-bottle purchase.
4. McPrice myers
McPrice Myers | 3525 Adelaida Rd, Paso Robles, CA 93446
Located in the scenic Adelaida district to the west, I really enjoyed McPrice Myers for their laid back atmosphere. In terms of wine, they have some really great bold reds that will make an excellent addition to your wine collection. I’m a fan of the Beautiful Earth red blend and the High on the Hog blend, which is one of their more affordable wines. The tasting fee here is $25 per person waived with a $75 purchase.
5. Rava Wines
Rava Wines | 6785 Creston Rd, Paso Robles, CA 93446
If you’re a fan of bubbles, Rava is the place to be! They make some absolutely delicious sparkling wines. We surprisingly fell in love with their Sparkling Moscato (typically a sweet wine but more on the tart side here) and their Albarino. When tasting at Rava, you can choose between a sparkling flight or still flight at $25 each, with the fee waived with a two-bottle purchase from either menu. They also serve a small assortment of food items here too, which makes for a nice brunch or lunch visit!
6. Onx Wines
Onx Wines | 2910 Limestone Way, Paso Robles, CA 93446
This is another favorite winery of mine located in the Tin City area. I loved all of the wines here and they have a lovely tasting room, both indoors as well as their outdoor covered patio. Their bottle art was also gorgeous and very unique – I wanted to get more bottles just for the labels!
Here, my favorites were the lighter wines – particularly the Field Day (97% Sauvignon Blanc, 3% Viognier) and their Tracing Paper (Rose of Tempranillo). Perfect wines to carry you through summer! The tasting fee here is $25 waived with two bottle purchase
7. Sculpterra Winery
Sculpterra | 5015 Linne Rd, Paso Robles, CA 93446
Not only is Sculpterra a winery, they’re also pretty much an art gallery with a property filled with sculptures of animals. After your tasting be sure to wander around and check everything out!
Overall, I thought most of the wines we tried at Sculpterra were really great. I particularly enjoyed the Viognier and Pinot Noir, which were not even included on that day’s standard tasting menu (love when they pour extras that aren’t included in the normal tasting!). Tasting fees are $20 per person and a 10% discount on bottle purchases.
8. HammerSky Vineyards
HammerySky | 7725 Vineyard Dr, Paso Robles, CA 93446
HammerySky is one of the most scenic wineries we’ve visited in Paso Robles! They also have some of the best wine. It’s also unfortunately one of the most expensive spots I’ve been to. Tasting here is $30 per person with the tasting fee waived with a three-bottle purchase (which is rough at the bottle price point). However, I still think it’s worth the visit for the views and wine.
They have a really great rosé, sparkling rosé, and their unique orange liqueur is a great finish if it’s available.
Brewery & Cidery Hopping
Even though Paso Robles is a wine region, there are some excellent breweries in the area that are not to be missed! My husband is more of a beer drinker, and while he indulges me with winery visits, we always sprinkle in visits to breweries. I also enjoy good beer, so it’s a win-win for me!
Barrelhouse Brewing
BarrelHouse should be at the top of your brewery-visit list! Not only do they have great beer, they also have a really cool spot in Tin City with a permanent food truck on site (DeBilz & Family) serving up delicious pub grub.
Can you just imagine yourself sipping on a juicy IPA in the Paso sunshine while chowing down on some flavorful chorizo nachos? I can tell you, my friends, it is bliss.
Firestone Walker Brewing
Firestone Walker Brewing is a well-known California brewery. You can find their flagship beers up and down the West Coast and beyond! However, visiting their tap rooms gives you a chance to taste seasonal beers and brews that they simply just don’t distribute widely (if at all).
Our easy-drinking favorite from Firestone is their Mind Haze IPA (and Double Mind Haze if you’re in the mood for something strong). We’ve also enjoyed seasonal beers like the Hypersleep Dream (a hoppy pale ale) and the Feral One Batch 8 (a Wild Ale that drinks like a sour).
tin city cider
Tin City Cider: Just steps away from Barrelhouse, still within the Tin City area, you’ll find Tin City Cider. What more could you ask for all in one compact place?! When you need a change of pace from wine and beer, cider is always a great go-to.
For $20, you can get a flight of four of any of the ciders they have on tap. This is a wee bit pricey in my opinion for a flight, but if you’ve never been before, flights are always the best option to try multiple items. Otherwise, if you’re cool with winging it, you’ll get better value getting a glass or pitcher. The Poly Royal was our favorite and at 11% ABV, it’s one to sip slowly!
Other places to find great beer
- The Backyard on 13th – Not a brewery but a chill outdoor beer garden with live music and good eats from Roots on Railroad!
- Silva Brewing, which we haven’t gotten a chance to visit yet but it comes highly recommended!
- KiloKilo Brewing – A Hawaiian-inspired brewery after my Maui girl heart! Another brewery that’s on our wish list for our next visit.
Paso Robles also has a bunch of distilleries to try! We’ll definitely be making room for those in the future.
Book a Private Hot Spring Tub
River Oaks Hot Springs | 800 Clubhouse Dr, Paso Robles, CA 93446
Paso Robles isn’t just all about the wine and food – it’s about the mineral hot springs too! If you want to include an activity that isn’t focused on food and drink, book a private outdoor hot springs tub at River Oaks. This is definitely a highlight of visiting Paso Robles for me!
Reservations can be made for one hour and you can purchase beer and wine on site to enjoy during your tub experience (you can’t bring your own drinks). Cost for the tubs is $24 per person for one hour Friday – Sunday, or $16 on Monday – Thursday. I definitely recommend booking an outdoor tub as you get lovely vineyard views and get to be out in nature. We were in Tub #16, but I think any of the outdoor tubs will have suitable views.
Note: Be sure to bring your own towels unless you want to pay an additional rental fee!
Paso Robles Suggested 4-Day Itinerary
Day 1 in Paso Robles
Upon arriving into Paso Robles, stop for lunch at Firestone Walker Brewing. Get your fill of hearty pub grub and seasonal beers on tap at the brewery! I recommend the fish and chips or one of their many delicious pizzas.
After lunch, head to your first wine tasting appointments for the long weekend at Jacob Toft & Levo in Tin City (there are also a ton of other wineries in this area, which makes it easy to fit in two tastings on your first day).
When you’ve had your fill of wine, drive out to Cass Winery and check into the Geneseo Inn – your accommodation for the night. The Geneseo Inn will have a complimentary cheese board waiting for you in your room! There’s also Cass Wine available for purchase at a 20% discount for Geneseo guests, which will pair perfectly with your snacks.
For dinner, make your way to Fish Gaucho in Downtown Paso Robles for an amazing and tasty Mexican-inspired meal. Try the beef short rib chile verde, shrimp enchiladas and the Smoke, Fire, Blood cocktail!
Day 2 in Paso Robles
Day two in Paso Robles is definitely a food and beverage-focused day!
Start your day with breakfast in bed (or on your private patio, weather permitting) at the Geneseo Inn, which is included with your stay at the B&B. After checkout, saunter over to the Cass Winery tasting room for a flight of wine. If you had a light breakfast, Cass also serves lunch from their café or their taco bar if you are there on a weekend day!
Next, head to the Downtown Paso Robles area and see if you can get an early check-in at your next hotel for the long weekend – the Paso Robles Inn. If your room isn’t ready, spend some time walking around the square and picking out some delicious restaurants or wineries to visit during your stay.
Grab an Uber to the Tin City area, just south of Downtown Paso Robles, for an afternoon of food, beer drinking (at Barrelhouse Brewing) & cider adventures. Be sure to also check out Negranti Creamery for a sweet treat!
After exploring Tin City, head back to the Downtown area to get ready for dinner at The Alchemist’s Garden. The Alchemist’s Garden does not take reservations, so get your name on the list and grab a drink next door at the Irish pub while you wait!
Day 3 in Paso Robles
For Day 3 in Paso Robles, sleep in a little bit and let your body catch up on rest! Head to lunch at Red Scooter Deli (be sure to call ahead) or Jeffry’s Wine Country BBQ.
After lunch, wander over to the Brown Butter Cookie Company and order yourself some tasty cookies! I highly recommend their original and cinnamon flavors. These little packs of cookies also make great gifts to bring back home for friends or family.
Next, make your way to McPrice Myers for an early afternoon wine tasting appointment out in a casual country setting.
Once you’ve sipped wine to your heart’s content, head to your reservation for your private outdoor mineral springs tub at River Oaks Hot Springs! This will be the ultimate relaxation activity. You can purchase wine and beer at the check-in desk also to enjoy while you’re in the tub.
Dinner tonight is at the casual spot The Backyard on 13th!
Day 4 in Paso Robles
On your last day in Paso Robles, wake up, start packing up your things and then head to Brunch at TASTE! Craft Eatery. TASTE Craft Eatery serves up a plethora of small portioned dishes, giving you the opportunity to choose a combination of 2, 3 or 4 different items. It’s such a unique restaurant concept that allows you to try so many different dishes! Pro tip: get anything made with the donuts – they are fantastic!
Before heading home, I recommend one final winery stop to end to end your time in Paso Robles – sparkling wine flights at Rava Wines!
And just like that, your weekend in Paso Robles is complete.
I hope this Paso Robles travel guide helps you in planning your getaway to the area! Will you be adding any of these to your itinerary? Is there anything else you would suggest for us to check out when we visit next?!
