Fall in Vancouver? Yes. Absolutely. 100%! Vancouver is a great destination for the fall season, and you’ll find beautiful fall foliage everywhere you look! One of the places that we visited on our fall Vancouver getaway was VanDusen Botanical Garden, and it’s a place that will make you fall in love with fall travel. You can spend countless hours here wandering and admiring the landscape. If you’re a nature lover and a fan of photography, it’s an amazing place to take photos!
Other great suggestions for beautiful fall photos is Stanley Park and Queen Elizabeth Park!
Here are some photos from the parts of the garden that I enjoyed the most.
Japanese Maples
I always love to see Japanese maples. They never disappoint, and the bright reds were probably my favorite of all the colors in the gardens.
Fall Leaves
Nothing says fall like vivid red, orange and yellow leaves. I love that nature isn’t consistent and that we can enjoy not only beautiful colors, but an array of shapes as well.
The Trees
The things that give us the beautiful leaves, standing tall in all their glory. I loved the color scheme of this little marshy area, with its moss colored trees and reflections in the water.
The Maze!
We might have been part of a small handful of adults amidst a larger group of kids wandering through this maze, but who says you’re too old for fun and games? I actually can’t remember the last time I was in a maze, if ever, so although it was a bit silly, I’ll cherish the smiles it brought me 🙂
Interesting Statutes and Totems
Nestled amongst nature in the gardens, you’ll find interesting totems and statues throughout.
Definitely my two favorites that make you go, “Hmm.”
All the Pretty Flowers
I’m sure the spring flowers are much more plentiful than what has been left for fall, but you can still find a little pop of color here and there.
Pertinent Info
Admission price to the garden in the fall is $8.00 CAD for adults. Click here for more info on admission prices for each season.
Hours: Each month of the year has different operating hours. Check out their website here for more info on hours.
Getting there: VanDusen is about a 10 to 15 minute drive from Downtown Vancouver, depending on the traffic. We took a taxi from Granville Island since we didn’t have our car that day. Taxis will also pull into the driveway out front for pick up periodically. We only had to wait a few minutes before one came along to take us back to our hotel and we didn’t have to worry about calling one to come get us. Unfortunately, Uber is currently not available in Vancouver.

I’d love to visit the garden during another season (perhaps spring) to see how the colors of the garden change! Have you ever been to VanDusen Botanical Garden? What is your favorite season to visit?
